Burnout was my wake-up call

For a while, I thought I was doing everything right.
I had a full-time job, a calendar packed with meetings, and a never-ending to-do list. I was productive, dependable, and always “on.” On paper, it looked like I was thriving.
But behind the scenes, I was running on fumes.
Most days ended with me glued to my phone, too drained to do anything but scroll and zone out. I wasn’t okay — just really good at pretending to be.
I kept telling myself it was just a “season.” That the stress would pass if I could just get through the next project, the next deadline, the next whatever. But it didn’t. The pressure kept piling up, and somewhere along the way, I lost sight of myself.
Something had to give
Eventually, the unhappiness got louder than the fear of change. I didn’t have some big dramatic moment — it was more like a slow, quiet unraveling. I realized I’d been in survival mode for so long, I couldn’t remember what it felt like to do something just because I wanted to.
So I gave myself permission to be curious again. I started jotting things down — not for work, not for anyone else, just to see what was still in me. I let myself follow the thread of ideas with no expectations.
Bit by bit, it became clear that I needed something of my own — a place to reflect, create, and begin again.
Why I’m starting this blog
I don’t have all the answers. I’m not here to sell a 5-step healing plan or pretend like I’ve figured it all out. This space is for the in-between — the messy, hopeful, still-learning stage a lot of us are in.
If you’re feeling stuck, creatively numb, or unsure what’s next… you’re not alone. I’m writing this blog as someone who’s been there (honestly, still there some days) and wants to make sense of it all — through stories, reflection, and small acts of reclaiming peace.
What you can expect
This blog will live in two lanes:
Personal reflections — honest thoughts about burnout, identity shifts, career pivots, and the weirdness of being a young adult right now.
Wellness tools — calming practices, mindset shifts, and strategies that have helped me (and might help you too).
Closing note
If you’re figuring things out one small step at a time, I’m right there with you.
Thanks for being here. More soon 💭
